In respect of Mr Ryan's comments with the handling of Toms Close affordable housing development, I hardly think the word disgraceful to describe the actions of the Parish Council are appropiate. If Mr Ryan had attended the subsequent parish council meetings regarding the issue, he would have discovered that the Parish Council did approach the relevant bodies to go forward with a new survey, the response was, at best, a waste of time. A new survey would not be recognised and all criteria for the tenants of the the development was explained quite clearly.Basically the whole development would not be exclusive for local residents and or relatives of locals. So, after exhaustive discussions at the subsequent Parish Council meetings it was decided that the Parish Council had withdrawn their support for the project. All residents of the village were informed of this decision by letter and invited to attend the next Council meeting. Considering some were in favour of this project, when the discussions and opinions on both sides of the argument were invited to the meetings, there wasn't enough interest from the 'for' camp. I personally think the Council acted democratically and fairly, they also have many other issues within the community which, until recently I didn't realise. I think we should praise the actions of the the Parish Council, they do a lot of hard work for us 'locals'

I thought how the parish council handled the Tom Close housing application was disgraceful.
I was at a meeting where a clear and substainal majority of the people present were in support of having affordable housing in the village. It is a shame that a subsequent meeting of the parish council decided to vote against the proposal.
